Spectrum yearbook wins award

Spectrum High School’s yearbook program has been named a 2016 Jostens’ National Yearbook Program of Excellence.

The National Yearbook Program of Excellence recognizes engaging yearbooks that reflect a broad representation of the student body while helping students develop 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, and information and communication technologies literacy.

Editors Emmanuelle Kreger, Kelly Mitchell and Lexi Reese, under the direction of Jessica Kemnitz, Spectrum High School yearbook adviser, led the Spectrum High School award winning yearbook program.

Staff members include Carter Allard, Kayla Averbeck, Hayley Balmanno, Jennifer Cralley, Benjamin Harvey, Maddie Hays, Jena Jakubeic, McKenzie Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Catherine Mahanna, Holly Mohlencamp, Makayla Morrell, Kayla Muller, Adrian Peterson, Isabel Riley, Brittani and Kassidi Robbins, Morgan Schelske, Hannah Skistad, Alec Staricka and Josie Sumner.

“Each year we work hard to create a book that is better than the previous,” Kemmitz said. “To receive this award for the third year in a row shows that the editors and staff are doing something right.

“The yearbook staff put their heart into meeting deadlines, creating an inclusive book and selling out each year. I could not be more proud of them.”
